The New TAWERS TIG – Now Making it Easier Than Ever to Convert...
The Panasonic TAWERS TIG is the latest robotic solution in arc welding. The TIG’s unique Torch Start System, along with its precise and controlled wire feed makes it a perfect solution for high production environments. However, its ability to quickly and easily convert from a standard TWAERS to TIG and back also make it an affordable choice for those shops that only occasional need TIG support. It can be retrofitted to any existing TAWERS system with the upgrade kit allowing for easy integration into your existing systems.
The TAWERS TIG utilizes higher traveling speeds and deposition, and is more forgiving than a standard arc welding system allowing for easier maintenance of TCP. The system can also utilize the “automatic extension” software of TAWERS as an AVC height control. The TIG’s unique features make it an ideal solution for steel and stainless steel welding (DC only).
The Panasonic TAWERS TIG solves 4 major issues that you will often find with other High Frequency TIG solutions:
- Eliminates HF noise that can cause serious errors and harm to the system.
Torch starting process eliminates the need for high frequency.
- Eliminates unstable wire feeding that is a result of high friction in the filler tube.
Filler pipe is perfectly in line with the tungsten.
- Allows for flexibility of the tungsten in relationship/position to the wire.
Most TIG models are static unless you purchase the costly option of servo rotation, which is still constricting. This model allows for the wire to enter the puddle at any position. This effects bead shape and speed, and can be useful for thick to thin or high speed welding.
- Lengthens the life of water cooled torch cables.
The power cable is air cooled and only the torch body is water cooled. An air cooled optional torch is also available totally eliminating water within the system.

FANUC’s New Redesigned Robots for Welding and Material Handling
FANUC has introduced their new redesigned robots for welding and material handling. These new robots feature several enhancements such as increased speed and arm span for faster operation and further reach than previous models. Each of these robots is also designed with a slimmer wrist size that allows for maneuvering in smaller openings. The 50 mm hollow wrist and upper arm design simplify cable or torch management.
The redesigned Arc Mate 100iC and Arc Mate 120iC robots are designed specifically to optimize your welding applications. All four robots feature through-the-wrist mounting capability for rotary torch flexibility and reliability. Wire feeders can now be mounted behind J4 of the robot if desired.
- Arc Mate 100iC robot
- 55.9” radial reach and 22# payload
- Through-the-wrist mounting capability for rotary torch flexibility
- Wire feeder can mount behind the J4 hollow opening
- Arc Mate 100iC/6L
- 64.2” radial reach and 13# payload
